I was notified of the interview one day after the application deadline.
The recruiter hosted an event prior to the scheduled interviews. During this event, they presented the company and gave those selected for interviews an opportunity to interact with employees.

High-pressure culture without high-pressure rewards

Pros: Get to work with cool tech, and there are some great people here.
Cons: The comp team doesn’t understand Canada and market norms. It’s this constant pressure to raise the bar for average pay. I believe this is worse outside of engineering too. There’s no RRSP matching, even though the recruiter promised it was coming during my recruitment process. There are no bonuses. The company outsources lots of functions to save costs – doesn’t really scream “cares about local communities” to me. Hiring and promotions are slow due to zero headcount growth over the last three years.
