Applied online and a recruiter replied a week later asking assessment-type questions "to speed up the process." I replied within 24 hours. The recruiter replied the same day, letting me know of the next steps (a call with the recruiter and also a technical interview) and to schedule through a meeting link. The first availability was a week later. I scheduled and followed up with clarifying questions. There was no reply to my questions, and the recruiter canceled the meeting an hour before it was to start. Days later, I got the generic email that the position has been filled. It was really unprofessional of the recruiter to lead a candidate on and cancel an hour before a scheduled call with no follow-up.
