Process

First, there was an HR call that focused on my resume. Then, the HR set me a technical phone interview in two days. After that, I got a call from a Sr. Software Engineer who asked me basic core Java questions, such as:

  • Singleton class and how to ensure it has only one instance
  • Difference between a static block and a static method
  • How to get duplicate values from a database (clue: using the HAVING clause)
  • Difference between observer and observable classes
  • What are synchronization and serialization?
  • Final, finally, and finalize
  • How to print all the rows in a database

Apart from these, be prepared with Hadoop and MapReduce questions.

Now, I am waiting for the result. If selected, I will be called for an onsite interview.
