Applied via LinkedIn Easy Apply and received a call from HR the next day.
Since the budget wasn't surplus, the HR conveyed that they couldn't proceed further.
A couple of days later, the same HR got in touch with me. This time, she said she had consulted with her recruitment manager and if I could deliver an exceptional performance, I might get a hike according to industry standards.
I agreed and we proceeded with the first telephonic round, which I cleared.
I was told that if I cleared the first telephonic round, I would be called for an onsite interview. But after that, they included one more round, a telephonic round, since they expected something very exceptional from me.
After that round was completed, I was told I didn't clear it and eventually couldn't continue with the interview process.
To my surprise, the second telephonic round was much easier, and a few questions were already asked in the first round.
This kind of budget shortage and hiccups in expectation left me with a bad impression of the company.
On the other hand, the HR was polite and gave me the reasons for my rejection in the second round, which directly pointed to the deficit budget.
