Pros

Fidelity has some okay benefits, but nothing special. The people are the best asset, and the company does not even remotely deserve any of them.

Cons
  • Micromanagement from C-level executives
  • "One size fits all" mentality
  • Managers have NO discretion to do what is best for their teams (or the company)
  • Weird compensation structure. (Base pay is WAY below the industry.)
  • Many benefits (401k match, etc) do not kick in until you've been there a year and have a ridiculous vesting period.
  • Only about 5% of employees get promoted in a given year. Get ready for the "Hunger Games" to compete against your peers for good raises and promotions.
  • Probably the worst handling of a layoff that I've seen in my 30+ year career.
  • Heavy-handed RTO policy. Many workers were hired remotely during Covid, told they could always work remotely, and now are having to quit because they can't adhere to the attendance policy.
  • The office environment is the worst I've ever seen. Desks side-by-side (not even cubicles). Super loud. Super distracting.
Advice to Management

Abby and the other executives might be financial geniuses, but they don't know anything about leadership. Empower your managers to do what is right for their teams. Get out of the way, and your employees will be a lot happier and more productive.
