Pros

Cutting-edge technology.

Learning opportunity in some projects.

Cons

Politics from the manager side at performance rating time.

Since moving to automation, even for a small task, developers lose their learning opportunities.

If a leader doesn't know about you, you won't get a better hike.

They don't consider what work you do in the project. If you do a lot of work outside of project work, you will be praised, and your hike will be good.

Advice to Management

Consider what the employee delivered in the squad.

Chapter leaders should know how an employee is contributing to customer-impacted work in the squad, rather than at the chapter level.

If you consider chapter-level work only for performance ratings, you should reveal this at the time of the interview.

Don't give hikes based on other salaries. Try to give hikes based on employee performance.
