There are incredible, bright people.
There are plenty of exciting challenges.
Great benefits, bonus, 401k opportunities, etc.
Honest desire by management to continuously improve.
There are... less incredible, not-quite-as-bright people.
The challenges are there because there's a lot of ancient cruft.
You might find higher base pay elsewhere.
Entrenched financial companies are conservative by nature, and bold ideas are hard to shepherd into reality.
That thing you do where we all spend two hours on the phone and none of you have the courage to make a decision? We know your game, and it isn't fun. Make the call or promote someone who will.
