Depending on the group, you could be working a good amount of time, averaging 50+ hours per week.
Promotions can be very slow. You need to be prepared to specify your accomplishments in detail during promotions. Do not be shy.
Expecting management to recognize your worth and reward you for it can many times leave you behind and frustrated. Yes, speaking from experience.
Change is slow; be patient.
There are some processes that can seem very antiquated, but patience and common sense will go a long way.
