In the Ireland Cloud team, promotions often appear to be relationship-driven. There seems to be a greater emphasis on discussing abstract ideas or concepts from books, while tangible performance and delivery outcomes may receive less recognition.
There were two 1-hour rounds of interviews after the introductory HR call. The interviews were mostly based on projects listed on the resume and team fit. The questions were AWS and K8s related.
1. Round one-on-one interview. 2. Panel interview with 4 team members, including the Director. 3. VP-level interview. 4. Drug test. 5. Background check. The whole process took around 3 weeks or so.
One-hour technical interview with a DevOps focus (no LeetCode) with members of the team the role would have been in. One-hour final round with hiring managers and another more senior individual.
