Cons

Politics trumps logic every time.

Management continuously declares success without achieving anything.

Technology departments are run by business managers who don't have the base knowledge required to understand the impact of their decisions.

It's hard to develop marketable technology skills because of an intense focus on full stack development.

An intense and well-intended focus on diversity is becoming a mirror image of the issue it was intended to correct.

Advice to Management

Politics is killing the technology teams by using trendy tech that is not fit for purpose and disenfranchises staff.

We need real technical leadership at the high levels, or this will always be people's backup career destination.
