Unethical manager. Manager discriminated based on language. They knew my wife was having a baby and I was preparing to go on parental leave. Just two weeks before my daughter was due to be born, the manager laid me off. When I asked for a reason, he didn’t have an answer. He just gave me a random reason, saying HR randomly picked. He purposefully kept all Telugu-speaking people and because I was not, got rid of me. I worked for more than 6 years at Fidelity, and just when I was about to go on parental leave, they decided to steal my hard-earned leave from me. This is inhuman. I had shared with him that I was the only breadwinner in the house, and still, without any reason, they decided to put me through a lot of suffering.
Try to care about the people who work for you. We are not machines.
