Pros

The 401(k) profit sharing plan appears unequaled. Benefits truly show that employees are valued. Salary is solid, and the work/life balance is one of the biggest perks.

Cons

Can only speak for IT, but management has demonstrated a remarkable disconnect with employees.

They have created confusion and discontent with some of their most valuable employees through poor and inexplicable promotion and assignment decisions.

Advice to Management
  1. If two reports' performance seems similar, it probably is. Making permanent decisions that reward the louder self-promoter might not always be the wisest choice.

  2. If you know that the team does not have sufficient challenges/opportunities for a report, help that person to make a career-enhancing lateral or upward move to another team. This does not weaken your team, but strengthens it by creating a positive dynamic.
