Pros

This internship, for me, was very low pressure, but your mileage may vary. Although internship positions are universally low pressure (in my experience), a full-time job likely won't be.

The opportunities to learn new things and attend new events are there for interns, but you definitely need to seek them out. They won't really come to you the way they might at other companies.

It also pays very well for what it is.

Cons

Because there's so little pressure, you might not be able to motivate yourself to learn new things. But the opportunities are certainly there; you're just not "forced" to participate the way you may at other companies.

However, the internship program is very mismanaged. They've recently introduced a lot more bureaucracy into the recruiting process, so the team you end up with might just not be sure what to do with you, which can become tedious after a while.

The culture is also pretty awful, in my opinion. It's extremely corporate, and it can often feel like you aren't really contributing to anything. Even just the building seems like a typical, corporate workplace. I didn't care much, but I can see how it could be kind of dehumanizing.

Advice to Management

Reducing bureaucracy in internship recruiting will allow teams to properly utilize interns.
