Software Engineer Interview Experience - London, England

Process

I applied online. After about two weeks, a recruiter reached out to discuss my experience, the company, and the role. All good vibes.

I then got scheduled for a first-stage coding interview. They were accommodating; I was able to push it back last minute due to personal reasons.

The coding interview was comprised of several tasks, which were building upon each other. The interviewer was a bit unenthusiastic and was giving off exhausted vibes, but was still generally nice.

Unfortunately, the interview did not go well for me. I did not complete all the steps and did not proceed to the next stage.

In general, knowing how to operate reasonably fast with data structures and main algorithms should have you be okay. It was an early-stage interview, so I did not really get any specific feedback, just the general rejection response.

Questions

I was asked not to share. It was a multiple-stage problem based on a real use case they have, but nothing too outlandish. It required knowledge of STL data structures and moving a bit faster than I did.
