Process

The first round was a HackerRank coding challenge.

The second round was with a QA manager via video call. During this call, I was asked two simple coding questions and about my current job, as well as the challenges I've faced in QA and engineering processes.

The third round was with a person from the engineering team. I was asked similar questions regarding the challenges I've faced with engineering processes and how to solve them. Later, I was asked two coding questions related to arrays and lists. The interviewer had a poor internet connection and kept dropping off frequently.

However, I did not hear from HR about the results of the interview, despite requesting them via email and phone calls.

This suggests the company may communicate well with those who are selected but doesn't focus as much on those who are not.

Pros: There are many advantages to working at Fivetran. They are: * There is an open work culture; anyone can pick any issue or task depending on their expertise or interest. No one is forced to do anything specific. The senior management believes it's better for everyone to self-assign tasks. * The Indian team works alongside the U.S. team. Everyone works directly on common issues and tasks, with equal work opportunities. The Indian team is not restricted to a particular set of tasks or domain. * Everyone in the company is accessible. There is a common Slack channel and mailing list, and you can directly approach even the co-founders, with no restrictions or communication barriers. * Great-minded people are around; everyone is experienced and has their own expertise. * Complete transparency exists. There is a common weekly meeting between the Indian and U.S. teams, and all sales and revenue stats are accessible to each and every employee. I have never seen this level of transparency anywhere before. * All the latest technologies and tools are being used. It is way above the Indian standards and provides good learning opportunities for Indian developers. * Everyone gets a new MacBook Pro, and they can ask for any resources to increase their productivity. * The office is full of technical and non-technical resources. The company is financially very stable, and it is clearly visible. * There are flexible working hours, and it's a 5-day work week. * Paid vacation is offered to ensure work-life balance. * Free snacks and drinks are always available in the office. * Occasional weekend trips and lunch/dinner outings are organized to prevent boredom.
