Some companies have low-hanging fruit when it comes to building products and improving your tech stack. At Flexport, the fruit falls off the tree, rolls down the hill, and is at your feet waiting to be picked up. Lots of opportunity to optimize, improve, and build new products.

Cons: Industry headwinds with tariffs. Our technology isn't really differentiated. We aren't automating freight forwarding or providing an automation advantage to our customers. No growth and lots of costs.

Cons: Empty promises from executives. You will get laid off. Even with the recent lifeline ($250M), Flexport is on its ropes, and its runway is very short. They claim to have far superior technology when compared to competitors, but the entire company runs on a 10-year-old Ruby on Rails monolith. Build time is usually 2+ hours. The company was BARELY profitable in 2021/2022 when rates were 10X what they are today. Flexport will never return to anything remotely profitable.
