The recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn and scheduled a meeting to discuss the role. Then, she sent me the assessment, which I did well on, scoring ~80%. Next, she scheduled a screening interview with the Hiring Manager, but it was more of a very in-depth technical discussion. Meanwhile, she also checked on my references. The second round of the interview was scheduled with two senior software developers, where there was a technical discussion around skills/experience, but no coding or problem-solving. Then, the recruiter made a low-ball offer as a contract, saying my experience/skills were not aligned but that she would try to negotiate. After a week, they offered a full-time position with an even lower salary (~40%) than what we had agreed on earlier, to which I said no.
