Process

1- Telephone Interview: You will be asked about your background, your motivation for joining the company, how you react in certain situations, and what you know about the company.

2- Assessment Center: It didn't happen like in normal assessment centers, where all applicants have to do activities together. In any case, we only met at the beginning of the day, during the breaks between interviews, and at the end of the day.

There were three phases where each of us had one-on-one contact with the interviewers.

  • Technical Interview: You will be asked about everything you know regarding the position you are applying for, about challenges the industry faces in this area, and definitely about your background. Also about how you would react in some situations they tell you about.
  • Role-playing
  • Problem Solving: You will be presented with an internal problem that you have to fully understand and present to two members of management. You have to explain why you chose that particular solution and convince them.

Positives:

  • The German language was not a requirement for the interview (at least officially - no idea if that had any influence on the decision!).
  • A really interesting experience, regardless of whether you are selected or not.

Negatives:

  • The only thing I really find bad is that they didn't give me feedback within the planned time (which was three weeks, by the way!). I almost had to beg for feedback. (At that time, it was obvious that I had not been selected.) In any case, I still find it really annoying to simply not give feedback because I wasn't selected!! But to be honest, I received feedback about six or eight weeks later, just by phone, and up to now (more than a year later) I haven't received an official answer!

Questions

Everything actually went very well that day until I received this problem-solving task. I felt that the prescribed time was too short to fully understand the problem and give a presentation about it. Others probably found that fine.
