Pros

Relatively flexible hours and good work-life balance.

I highly recommend only getting hired directly by Ford because of all the benefits compared to a contract position.

Cons

Most projects that I initiated, some of which were necessary to save software from becoming obsolete, were constantly being rejected by the product owners and supervisors. You lose out on motivation to innovate, and eventually your productivity in your day-to-day tasks also decreases. Most people at Ford work to safeguard and hold their positions as long as possible, even if it means compromising on the product.
