Great top management. Willingness for improvement from top management. Transparency and sharing information, great team effort, cross-functional teams, and matrix reports. A structured will to get things done with supportive people who love the company so much.
Middle management is not quite competent as top management.
Too many levels. If we eliminate 10 of those levels and make a flat management organization, it will have a great future for Ford to come back as the great company to work for, as it was 10 years ago.
Too many bad apples and gangsters in middle management to move things effectively. A revolution to move to cut those non-valued people will save this old company from slipping further.
Get rid of LL levels and make it two levels for LL. Encourage GSL level to be more specialist. Promote the best-in-class working force by promoting GSL who have management skills to be managers. Get rid of those bad apples and gangsters.
