Ford offers great perks other OEMs could just dream of. In some cases, it actually pursues work-life balance. If you happen to work with an actual people leader (of which there aren't nearly enough), you'll experience joy in what you're doing and exponential growth.
HR will never look out for you, is not there to help or protect you in any way. Getting a raise would be a superhuman task (unless you're on the good side of someone capable of making that decision). If you happen to fall into a department with subpar management (there are many), say goodbye to a year or more of development, since they won't let you move to another area, sometimes just for the sake of their amusement. You'll also find that some of the company policies only apply to the non-leader class, i.e., everyone below supervisor level.
Pay attention to employee comments. Don't just offer one channel to raise concerns. Be fair and, most of all, put together an HR department that acts humanely.
