Decisions take lots of people and time. It is difficult to stand out and feel autonomy when everyone is involved in every decision. Sometimes this is what it takes to make good decisions, but it can be difficult to feel independent.
Ford has had a lot of success and has negotiated the tricky economy better than any other company in the US. The management team is in flux at the moment, so I can't really offer advice.
