Pros

Fulfilling work for engineers.

Somewhat flexible (pandemic time).

Lots of in-vehicle testing.

Analysis and trend prediction skills.

Cons

No job stability if you have under 5 years of experience with them.

Ford Roth IRA is a scam (you lose it if you left the job before 3 years of service).

Teams in engineering are in heaven, and others are in hell on earth.

Job location matters.

The manager could be less knowledgeable than you (connection-based promotions).

CEOs can be from a non-automotive background, which makes a misfire in the whole company's productivity (Sports ring a bell).

Advice to Management
  • Never let a master's or Ph.D. be managed by lower-rank personnel.
  • Promote based on achievement, not connection.
  • Years of service are not related to the depth of skills.
  • Bill Ford: Jim Farty is taking the company down to hell. Send this kid home. Protect your grandfather's legacy.
  • Use the "open book management" technique. Too much bureaucracy and counterforces exist down the ladder.
