Very little accountability. Only a pro if you're lazy. But if you're lazy, you can fly under the radar and not be taken to task for being a low performer.
Good pay and benefits. No travel. Pleasant co-workers. I genuinely like most of the people I work with.

Quality of engineering co-workers not nearly as high as other places I've worked. Been shocked by how frequently employees lack mastery of basic engineering principles. I'm convinced Ford doesn't disintegrate while being driven because of the efforts of a small number of very talented engineers and 125 years of institutional knowledge regarding building vehicles, not the abilities of the rank and file engineers.
Have some courage. Make hard decisions, hold people accountable to do the work and get you the information needed to make the right decision. And stop letting the supply base dictate to you.
