There are a LOT of smart and strong engineers there. The tech stack is pretty up-to-date and will impress, no doubt. The culture varies between teams, but for the most part, they are stellar. Welcoming and warming.
It is chaos for upper management. They have done multiple job cuts now. I understand if finance had to reevaluate due to the economy forecast, etc., but the two recent cuts were officially stated to be to fund the EV program. The last one (3k cut) was due to further analysis of their costs being still too high, not because of performance reasons. Why are costs still too high? Why couldn't you just figure out the one number and make it quick instead of having this looming threat dangling over the whole organization?
Also, management is lacking basic communication skills. This is, unfortunately, the second time they have failed to communicate. Teams were not even aware of losing key players needed, which ultimately throws out any project estimation that was done previously. They really don't do their due diligence and fire anyone by going down a list. It is heartless.
The "hunch punch" they keep selling about the Ford family is a lie. Even the respected senior engineers are livid about the unprofessional process. It is extremely gloomy right now.
I really, really liked the company, and I know many felt this way. Now we have a sour taste in our mouths. Everyone is pretty pissed.
Be more professional and communicate better.
Stop trying to act like you are better and smarter than everyone else. You are clearly not.
I predict a mass exodus.
1. HR screening round. It's very simple. 2. Technical round. You're expected to answer basic Java-related questions. 3. Technical round 2. Pair programming round. 4. Salary discussion round with manager.
I took an online assessment, which consisted of multiple-choice questions and one coding problem. I think I got most questions correct. For the coding problem, I had a solution that worked, but it wasn't fast enough for all test cases, and I ran out
