The pace of projects tends to be glacial at Ford, because of how much bureaucracy there is in communicating through the chain of PMs between you and the end user. There were times it took over a week to get a yes/no answer, so you never feel rushed.
The work was alright, and the company treats its developers well.

Let the developers and end users interact directly, at their discretion. Many requests for clarification don't need the involvement of a dev PM, central PM, and end user PM, just to relay a question back and forth. You have internal DM capabilities; let your employees use it.
