Pros
  • Work with awesome people every day.

  • Encouraged to learn and grow.

  • Remote work accessible.

  • Good 401k match/contributions.

Cons
  • Slow salary progression that trails inflation.

  • It was just revealed that the recent EV business would have an exclusive college graduate (FCG) program. This limits opportunities and exposure for newcomers.

  • The stock award program is available to very few employees; even fewer receive it.

  • Ford wants to compete with top-tier software companies, but pay falls short (even in comparison to other Detroit automakers).

  • The vehicle discount is negligible.

  • Some old mindsets slow down software development.

Advice to Management

Make compensation more competitive, plain and simple.

Don’t solo Model E from the rest of Ford.

Improve vehicle discounts so employees can drive the vehicles we support.

Make yearly raises more impactful.

If these aspects don’t change, I can definitely see talent opting for more enticing offers from the likes of GM, Tesla, Rivian, etc. Admittedly, Ford trails the pack.
