You can get by doing the bare minimum if that is what you want in life.
Poor management will squeeze you till the last drop. They will not give clear roles and responsibilities. Mid-level engineers will feel like they are stepping on toes.
Recognize the work and give better designation to people that deliver, instead of keeping people that do the bare minimum.
