Pros

This is a good company to start with, learn new skills, and then move on.

Cons

In June 2024, I came across a job posting on LinkedIn for a hardware developer role at Fortinet. It required a Master's or PhD in engineering but offered a salary of only $77k to $107k.

This seems disrespectful to highly educated graduates and existing engineers in the Canadian job market.

Furthermore, do not expect a raise or promotion. In this company, lobbying and politics will get you much farther than your education or skills, as higher managers often do not prioritize innovation or employees' ideas about anything.
