Pros
  • Pay and Stock
  • Technology and Technical Learning
Cons
  • Management sucks.
  • No proper corporate structure; experienced individuals are at the bottom of the career ladder, and "dump" idiots are in senior roles.
  • English is hardly spoken in Canada; a diversity failure.
  • Gang culture (Chinese, Indian, Iranian, etc.). No inclusion if you are different.
  • HR "sucks." Asian mentality of fear-based management, with an ultimate focus on winning "Best employer on paper" awards.
Advice to Management
  • Fire all HR, no exceptions.
  • Create a technical career path, as well as a managerial career path, and don't mix the two. Let those who failed socially live in their technical dreams and not manage people.
  • Count people's experience in their previous jobs fairly and don't decide on their seniority based on their previous pay. This always happens and it sucks and places smart talents under senior unexperienced individuals with limited experience.
  • Stop asking interviewees how much they made in their previous jobs. (Nasty HR questions.)
