I submitted my application online and was contacted by a recruiter not long after. It was a standard interview process for the role: a recruiter screen, a hiring manager interview, then two short rounds of a virtual onsite which included coding, architecture, and behavioral questions. So far, so good.
However, there was no follow-up from the recruiter for several weeks. I took the initiative to ask for an update from the recruiter, who said that they unsuccessfully tried to get feedback from the hiring manager.
Look, I get ghosting happens, especially at earlier stages, but I was shocked to be ghosted for this senior of a level and at a late stage in the process. It's also a huge red flag that there was apparently little to no communication between the recruiter and hiring manager.
