Referred through a known person, I got an interview call based on the job description. The hiring manager contacted me by phone to set up the interview date. On the day of the interview, the hiring manager welcomed me from the reception area to the meeting room. The interview panel consisted of 3 members, including the hiring manager and 2 other technical persons. The interview was purely technical, focusing on projects that I had worked on previously. They did not want me to divulge any proprietary information.
The next set of questions were based on the area of work for which I would be recruited. The whole theme of the technical interview was to see how talented the person is and how they adapt to different situations. It was extremely professional.
Next was the HR interview, which included the HR manager and the COE manager. Typical HR questions were asked, for example, about why I was leaving my previous role and my interest in joining this company. The only question regarding pay was about my current CTC and expectations. There were no negotiations, as they have a salary band for each position.
I got hired and received the joining date and a list of formalities required to be completed.
Being put in a difficult situation to see how I would emerge out of it.
