Commissioning Engineers are like a family, always looking out for each other, bouncing ideas, and offering quick on-site, in-the-moment fixes to one another.
Sometimes the supporting office forgets that the travelling commissioning engineers need a lot of support and are the priority for making profits for the company. That culture must be adhered to, as when we engineers have issues and we falter, so does the office.
Alstom is over now; it's GE. It's a rough environment supporting commissioning engineers and acquiring contracts.
Consisted of HireVues, which then led to an Arctic Shores, eventually a final interview. This was a really easy process, but make sure you are a British national before applying.
Good, but long. Flew in for a few interviews, did most of the others remotely or over the phone. Nice staff, fairly transparent on what benefits are. Would recommend; good area.
