Pros
  • Very good culture and ethics.
  • Good campus with a lot of facilities.
  • Work-life balance (but few exceptions exist).
  • Vast learning opportunities to enhance technical and leadership skills.
  • People in senior technical roles are really great.
  • Performance really matters.
  • Global exposure.
  • Truly engineering environment.
  • The 'GE' tag benefits in higher study (MS/MBA).
  • Job switch is easy and one gets good compensation (many people work for 2-3 years and finally land in good job offers from competitors/similar domains).
Cons
  • Pay scale is low.
  • Few people seem to be in leadership positions by mistake (probably they were in GE at the right time).
  • To get a good rating, project execution is not enough (probably 60-70% contribution to the overall rating).
  • Not a good place for B.Tech candidates who really want to continue on a technical career path, since limited options are available for higher study while working (from local colleges, from where they never recruit).
