Pros

Long-term stability, good co-workers.

Cons

Heavy bureaucracy, promotions are demographically based – not merit-based. Scads of do-nothing people, no pipeline of key talent. Pressure-packed to get things done immediately. Outsourcing is crazy to the point that it's worthless. Poor, short-sighted leadership – they've got their money and options, and they're not going to rock the boat. Below-average pay for the worker bees.

Short-term focus inflicts permanent damage, as seen in the Appliances division.

Advice to Management

Listen to the workers. We need to have a bottoms-up rather than top-down approach. Stop promoting individuals who rotate jobs every two years. Stop outsourcing just to outsource. Focus more on the long term rather than the short term. Insource key talent positions and pay according to industry average. Get rid of dead weight.
