Pros

I wish I could write at least one good thing other than timely salary.

Cons

I can write a book mentioning all the poor things I experienced in Alstom (currently GE).

Politically driven company, this means every decision is taken to maintain few selected favored employees.

You can't even dream of getting help from peers in your daily job, especially technical stuff.

Line and functional managers are cunning to the last stage. If you make the mistake of discussing any issue, be it interpersonal or technical, they will take fullest advantage of you. It's because they are focused on cutting costs.

Advice to Management

Nothing can help them. Top management is not at all concerned with what their agents (managers) are doing with their subordinates.

I have seen many good people resigning due to most cunning management decisions. Managers (especially French staff) don't bother how good your performance is. The moment you argue, you are gone.
