Pros
  • Amazing lab/component-development and testing capabilities.
  • Direct access to manufacturing and repair.
  • Largest installed fleet of gas turbines.
Cons
  • Too many people, leading to too much politics.
  • Very limited room for creativity due to management constraints and work being over-divided among people.
  • Very poor management; more textbook and hypocritical.
Advice to Management
  • Be open to feedback.
  • A big reward for engineers is mastering the subject and getting a sense of ownership and belonging to a product. Monetary rewards only dilute motivation.
  • There is very limited room for our creativity. There are too many people and too little work.
  • There is an appearance of empire building and boss-pleasing.
  • Projects change too often, and there is hardly any constancy before teams and projects change.
