Pros

Benefits:

  • Working from home
  • Flexi-hours
  • 10% pension contribution
  • Discounted healthcare
Cons

Training ban effective for the last 5 years (formerly Alstom). Career growth is impossible unless you are tapped on the shoulder.

International structure is heavily flawed. Your line management is 5-8 hours outside your time zone, with no visibility of your strengths or efforts.

Workforce is not motivated due to constant restructuring. It doesn't matter how good you are at your job; you might be out of a job next year.

Advice to Management

Let Engineering Centres run themselves as their own Profit and Loss organizations. This worked well before in Alstom days.

Reporting to a manager in the USA who reports to a manager in the UK, who then reports to a manager in the USA, makes absolutely no sense.
