Pros

It is a large company with opportunities to move around to a diverse set of technologies. The benefits are fairly good. It's a good resume builder. GE Leaders of Tomorrow is a great way to network with fellow young employees. Travel benefits are good. Flexible work arrangements are available to those with special needs.

Cons

Pay is significantly below the industry average (in my opinion) for engineers, with little to no bonuses.

Work is generally focused on maximizing profit on existing technology rather than investing in innovation.

Overtime pay is limited. Employees are encouraged to work casual overtime in office without compensation.

Advice to Management

Pay up.

Look to companies like Google, who employ perks that spur imagination and encourage group cohesiveness.
