GE still has a good name, but read on!
GE's name has been synonymous with allowing imagination, creativity, and fundamental work to flourish, generating new directions in research, resulting in new concepts, products, etc. This is not true anymore!
The health insurance, vacations, and other benefits are not really on par with the company's reputation.
What I say might seem unrealistic, but I suggest that you revive the old GE with its culture of creativity. While I understand corporations (like GE) are there to make money, please do not forget long-term investment in research and fundamental work in favor of generating quick revenues that look good only in the short term.

A very lengthy process. I gave a 1-hour presentation and met with over 5 people during the interview process. I met with senior research engineers, managers, and human resources. Each interview was about 30-45 minutes.
