Pros

Work-life balance, salary, and career growth are important.

Top-level leadership says and does the right things, but this does not filter down through mid-management to the working level.

Cons

Politics, kingdom building, functional silos, quarterly budgeting, a transactional work environment, too many systems, hard to get things done, too much focus on the "internal customer," and too much focus on competition.

Advice to Management

More collaboration, focus on the external customer, and break down the silo walls.

Get out in front and "lead"; don't hide behind glass doors.
