Everybody expects you to know everything about your part, and more importantly, every single thing related to your part has to be executed to perfection, even if the actions are other people's responsibility, like Validation Engineering, Suppliers, Purchasing, etc. You, as DRE, will be held accountable, period. Zero excuses.
