Java Developer Interview Experience - Bengaluru, Karnataka

Process

I received a call directly from the GS HR team. They scheduled everything according to the candidate's convenience.

My first round was on Hackerrank. There were two questions, and I cleared it.

The second round was a Coderpad round. They mentioned it would be similar to Hackerrank, but it involved solving pre-written code and ensuring all test cases passed. The problem statement was quite confusing, and it took me around 15 minutes to understand it.

Only half an hour was allotted for this task. The interviewer repeatedly asked if I was understanding the problem and emphasized the limited time remaining, which caused me to panic significantly.

I didn't feel this second round was an accurate assessment of my potential. While debugging skills are important and require a calm mind, the imposed 30-minute timer was genuinely distracting.

Questions

Hackerrank - Find the maximum earnings with which a person should start his day so that he has some money by the end of the week. The input was an array of days and a minimum amount he had.

Coderpad - Given a code related to Strings. Find out why all the test cases are failing.
