The interview process involved a call with a recruiter, followed by a meeting with the manager, and then a problem-solving round.
During the problem-solving interview, a medium-level problem was presented. I struggled to understand the basic solution.
I spent a significant amount of time explaining the problem. Since the interviewer was not well-versed in problem-solving themselves, much of my time was consumed by explanations. This left me with only 15 minutes for implementation. Instead of focusing on the problem, the interviewer kept diverting from it.
I could have easily solved the problem without the interviewer's interference in 10 minutes. However, they continuously asked what felt like "stupid" questions and requested multiple dry runs.
This was a worst interview experience. They should train their employees on problem-solving before placing them on the interview panel.
Project, skills, and practice discussion with the manager.
Then, in problem-solving, how many total rocks will be collected from the start point to the target point?
