I had an interview at a career fair, followed by an on-site interview in NY. The on-site interview consisted of three rounds.
The first interview was more technical, with two engineers from the company.
The other two interviews were less technical and more behavioral.

Pros: The benefits are good. The best people at Goldman Sachs stack up well with any other finance company. There is a good focus on technology and challenging problems a plenty.
Cons: The money is gone in finance. Regulation and low margins have squeezed all the money out.
My compensation was down a third from the peak.
They are trying to bring in a new set of people with reset expectations, but there are few good people left to bring them up to speed.
Soon, Goldman will be like Chase or Bank of America – just another big bank.

Pros: - Definitely looks good on your resume. Will ensure that recruiters call back if you plan on staying in finance.
- Opportunity to work with teams across global regions.
Cons: - Arrogance and rudeness abound. I've seen a lot of it as people get more senior.
- People putting in lots of work don't get the same recognition as those that just play up to management.
- Trying to change teams or leave is like a bad breakup. Management does not handle it well.
- Compensation is below standard but justified because "the culture you get is like nowhere else" (quote from an MD on why the pay isn't better).
