Pros: Ample opportunities to learn new things.
Work with a lot of hard-working, bright people.
If you are a hard-working individual with plenty of personal time to spare on work, you can do really well here.
Cons: From my personal experience, relative to the work you do, the compensation isn't high despite common sentiment about this company.
Depending on the group you're in, things get political, and it's hard to advance your career if you don't know the right people.
If you want to move up the ladder, you have to forget about your personal life and ensure that you work nights and weekends. Plus, you need to ensure that upper management is aware of your personal sacrifices.

Pros: We can work with lots of people with strong technical and personal skills.
The firm pays great attention to helping their employees develop their careers.
Everyone pays attention to building professional relationships with their peers, managers, and subordinates.
Nice office and nice gym.
Cons: During my years in GS, there were ups and downs in total compensation because of the change in the investment banking market.
