Working in Information Technology at Goldman Sachs is not recommended.
In the 3 years after my company was acquired, there was no one that wrote requirements for our systems or people that tested the software. This was the first time in my 30+ year career that both of these key software development pieces were not in place.
In addition, they have no problem overselling, resulting in completely unreasonable timelines which always result in rework and extra work in troubleshooting production problems. They have people to smooth over missed expectations; don't worry about the 70-hour week impacts on the tech folks.
Consider tech folks to be second-class citizens (to the finance folks) instead of fourth-class.
