Teamwork is the hallmark of this organization. There is a very strong belief that we can always achieve more if we are working as a team, as opposed to individually. There is no emphasis on star culture.
Long working hours are the biggest bane of Goldman Sachs. It is now ingrained so much in the culture that it's almost inseparable.
Those who have to do well are always constrained for quality personal time. There is little to enjoy outside of the office if you're an average person. But if you are a workaholic, there is no better place to work than GS.
Emphasize to people that they should enjoy life a little more than they currently do and encourage them to spend less hours in the office.
