Pros
  • Definitely looks good on your resume. Will ensure that recruiters call back if you plan on staying in finance.

  • Opportunity to work with teams across global regions.

Cons
  • Arrogance and rudeness abound. I've seen a lot of it as people get more senior.
  • People putting in lots of work don't get the same recognition as those that just play up to management.
  • Trying to change teams or leave is like a bad breakup. Management does not handle it well.
  • Compensation is below standard but justified because "the culture you get is like nowhere else" (quote from an MD on why the pay isn't better).
Advice to Management

Treat your employees with more respect. Reward hard-working individuals, not just sweet talkers.
