Great colleagues. Pleasant atmosphere. Good WLB. Great product team.
Legacy code (like in any growing company).
There are other similar companies which offer better salary & compensation.
When hiring, don't look for a 100% tech stack match. A super strong developer who coded with a different stack can be much better than an average developer with experience in the exact stack Gong is using. Super strong people are rejected for that reason, and it is a huge miss for Gong.
The interview started with a product demo. The interviewer didn't introduce himself or his role, nor did he ask about me. This seemed unusual. Afterwards, I was asked a battery of questions, mostly on obscure JavaScript topics, along with some basic
HR phone interview - nothing unusual. After that, there was an online interview with a senior developer from the R&D team. They asked only theoretical questions about coding and Java; no LeetCode problems were presented at this part.
People were nice during the interview. The interview process included: * 20-30 minutes with HR * 45 minutes with the DevOps team lead When asked why I was rejected, I received an empty, generic, and non-effortful response.
